Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 800 McCarty
January 28, 2019 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in a fatal crash that occurred at 800 McCarty Street about 12:35 a.m. today (January 28).
The suspect, Alberto Hernandez Torres (H/m, 38), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 176th State District Court. A photo of Torres is attached to this news release.
Torres is accused in the death of a female, 33, whose identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer J. Leon reported:
Torres was driving a silver Dodge Nitro northbound on McCarty when he ran a red light at the intersection of McCarty and Market Street. Torres struck a red Chevrolet Impala. The driver of the Impala was pronounced dead at the scene.
