Investigation into Fatal Crash at 900 Gessner Road
January 25, 2019 - A woman critically injured in a crash at 900 Gessner Road about 4:20 p.m. on January 17 has died.
The identity of the victim, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer S. Reese reported:
The male driver of a black Ford Explorer was exiting a parking lot of a mall and - with a green light - turned right onto Gessner Road. The victim, a pedestrian, was walking across Gessner. It has not been determined if she was in the crosswalk when she was struck by the Ford. The victim was taken by Life Flight Helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition. The driver was questioned, did not show signs of impairment, and was released pending further investigation.
On Thursday (Jan. 24), doctors pronounced the victim deceased at the hospital.
