Investigation into Woman's Death at 5521 Arlington Street
December 23, 2019 - The death of one woman and the wounding of another that occurred at 5521 Arlington Street about 5:50 a.m. on Saturday (December 21) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased female is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The second female, 49, was transported to an area hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective D. Stark reported:
Officers responded to a vicious animal call in the street at the above address and learned three pit bull dogs had gotten out of their yard and attacked two women on the street. The two women were not walking together at the time of the attack. The first female was pronounced dead at the scene. The second suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The Houston Bureau of Animal Regulation and Control (BARC) took custody of the dogs. Investigators questioned the dogs' owner, who was released pending further investigation.
