Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6100 West Orem
December 19, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6100 West Orem about 12:05 p.m. today (December 19).
The identity of the male victim, 18, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R. Bymaster reported:
The victim was driving a red Toyota Camry westbound on West Orem when he failed to drive in a single lane and struck a pole on the north side of the roadway. The Toyota then traveled to the opposite side of the roadway and struck a tree in the center median. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger in the vehicle, 17, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.
The investigation is continuing.
