Update: Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 3820 Rosemont Street
December 11, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man and woman and the wounding of another man that occurred at 3820 Rosemont Street about 5:10 a.m. on December 4.
The suspect, Nyee Matalyo Duncan (b/m, 18), is charged with capital murder in the 232nd State District Court. He is accused in the deaths of Romalius Mathews, 46, and Jaquilla Dixon, 47. Another male victim, 50, was also wounded in the shooting.
A prior booking photo of Duncan, who is not in custody at this time, is attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Sturdivant and Detective D. Nabors reported:
Officers responded to a shooting at a residence at the above address and learned a male victim had been shot and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. Officers then conducted a welfare check on the residence and found Mr. Mathews and Ms. Dixon deceased in a back bedroom. Both had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation identified Duncan as the suspect in this case and he was charged today (December 11) for his role in the shooting.
