December 09, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 9221 Pagewood Drive about 4:30 a.m. today.  

The victim, Aanu Joseph Olasunkanmi, 34, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective J. Roberts reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle call at the above address and found Mr. Olasunkanmi, a security guard, confronting the suspect in the parking lot on the south side of the apartment complex.  Olasunkanmi gave the suspect verbal commands to put up his hands, but once the suspect saw police approaching, he fled on foot through the complex.  Olasunkanmi and HPD officers pursued the suspect on foot until the officers lost sight of the suspect. 

Officers then heard two gunshots and, as they checked the complex, they found Olasunkanmi lying on the patio in front of an apartment.  He had been shot once in the arm and the upper torso.  The suspect had fled the scene.  Paramedics transported Olasunkanmi to the hospital,
