Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12500 Galveston Road
April 2, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 12500 Galveston Road about 10:40 p.m. on Monday (April 1).
The male victim, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer R. Singleton reported:
The victim was part of a convoy escorting a wide load. The victim stopped at the above address and got out of his vehicle to measure the height of the power lines over the road to ensure it was safe to pass. While standing in a moving lane of traffic, he was then struck by a blue Infinity G35 sedan. The male driver of the Infinity remained at the scene. He was examined by a HPD DWI Task Force officer and showed no signs of intoxication.
There are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.
