Investigation into Child Shot at 11600 Haviland Street
April 1, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a child at 11600 Haviland Street about 5:20 p.m. on Saturday (March 30).
The male victim, 2 years old, was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition. Doctors stated he is expected to survive his wounds.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers Z. Brumley and A. Barker reported:
The child and his mother were inside a vehicle in the parking lot of the park at the above address when shots were fired by individuals inside a silver, older model Acura toward the vehicle. Unknown suspects standing in the area of the child's vehicle returned gunfire at the silver car. All suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving at the scene. Paramedics transported the child to an area hospital. He had suffered two gunshot wounds.
