Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5600 North Freeway
September 28, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 5600 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 1:25 a.m. today (September 28).
The male victim, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer J. Crisler reported:
The victim was skateboarding northbound on the sidewalk at the above address when the driver of an unknown vehicle failed to maintain a single lane and fatally struck him. The driver then fled northbound on the North Freeway service road.
