September 14, 2018 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a juvenile female at 89 Casa Grande about 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday (Sept. 12).

The suspect, Irbin Vargas (H/m, 22), is charged with murder in the 232nd State District Court.  A recent photo and a 2014 booking photo of Vargas are attached to this news release. 

The victim is identified as Lourdes Sandoval, 16.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants K. Daignault and C. Duncan reported:

Ms. Sandoval was shot as she was walking along the street at the above address.  A caller stated a male suspect shot her and then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

Paramedics transported Sandoval to Houston Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation identified Vargas as the suspect in this case and charges were filed against him today (Sept. 14).
