Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6200 Southwest Freeway
October 17, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6200 Southwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 South) about 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 16).
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Linscomb and Officer M. Burton reported:
The victim was driving a black BMW 750Li southbound at the above address when he failed to control his speed, causing his vehicle to strike the rear of a stalled tractor trailer. The sedan went under the 18-wheeler’s trailer, killing the BMW’s driver.
No other motorists were injured in this incident.
