November 26, 2018 - Charges are pending against a suspect wanted in the shooting of a man at 3408 Lamar about 10 p.m. on Saturday (November 24).

The suspect, Antonio Cruz (H/m, 37), has a pending charge of aggravated assault against a family member.  Currently, he remains at large.

The victim, 44, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in unknown condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. Roberts and A. Ferrell reported:

HPD officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, officers determined a male had been shot and transported by paramedics to the hospital.  Officers also observed three empty 12 packs of beer near the rear of the vehicle where the parties involved had been drinking during the day.    

Investigators interviewed the victim at the hospital, who stated he and his brother-in-law had been arguing when Cruz shot him.
