Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7300 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 7300 Gulf Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 South) around 5:55 a.m. today (November 9).
The identity of the male victim, 63, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The victim was driving a white Toyota Camry northbound in the 7300 block of the Gulf Freeway when he failed to maintain a single lane and veered off the right hand side of the roadway. He then traveled through a grassy median, across a service road and under a chain link fence into a vacant field. The vehicle then struck a wooden pole, causing the vehicle to spin and strike a second pole. The driver was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
