Investigation into Fatal Crash at 14500 Westheimer

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 14500 Westheimer at about 1:40 a.m. today (November 5).
The identity of the male victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer R. Romo reported:
The victim was driving a black Toyota Camry traveling southbound on South Highway 6 when he ran the red light at the intersection of 14500 Westheimer. The driver of a red Kia Sportage then struck the victim's vehicle. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Kia Sportage was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries and showed signs of possible intoxication.
There are no charges in this incident as the investigation is continuing.
