Two Suspects Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 12600 Ashford Meadows Drive
Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the shooting of a male juvenile at 12600 Ashford Meadows Drive about 1 a.m. on Saturday (May 26).
One suspect, Sean Scott (b/m, 19) is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 176th State District Court. A second suspect, Damarvea Mikel (b/m, 18), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct in the same court. Photos of the suspects are attached to this news release.
The male victim, 12, was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers V. Habukiha and J. Hasley reported:
HPD patrol officers were in the area near the above address and heard gunshots. Moments later, officers saw a blue Nissan sedan with four persons inside fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and detained all four persons. Officers learned one of the bullets struck the victim in the abdomen. Paramedics transported him to an area hospital.
Further investigation determined two of the detained individuals, Scott and Mikel, were involved in the shooting and they were subsequently charged. Officers also recovered a handgun and a rifle inside the vehicle.
