Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 7200 Main at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday (May 19).

The identity of the male victim, 26, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer H. Nguyen reported:

The victim was driving a red Honda Civic south on Main when he left the roadway, without braking, and struck a large tree at the northeast corner of a residence at 2101 Maroneal.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.
