Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6500 Firnat Street
June 18, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6500 Firnat Street about 2:35 p.m. on Saturday (June 16).
The identity of the male victim, 21, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Linscomb and Officer L. Tram reported:
The victim was operating a blue and white Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Firnat as a blue Ford Explorer was traveling southbound on Lanewood. The motorcycle struck the Explorer whose male driver failed to yield the right of way as he left a stop sign. The victim was thrown from his motorcycle into a ditch. He was transported to Lyndon Baines Johnson General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Explorer remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is ongoing.
