Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3200 North Sam Houston Parkway East
June 11, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3200 North Sam Houston Parkway East service road (Beltway 8) about 2:55 a.m. on Saturday (June 9).
The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer B. Roberts reported:
A wrecker driver was traveling eastbound on the north Beltway 8 service road near John F. Kennedy Boulevard when he saw a vehicle disabled in the middle moving lane of traffic. The wrecker driver stopped, activated his lights for traffic control and waited for a police officer to arrive. A short time later, a white Honda Accord, with no license plates, rear-ended the wrecker. The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene. The wrecker driver was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
