Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1700 West Mount Houston Road
July 23, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 1700 West Mount Houston Road about 9:35 p.m. on Saturday (July 21).
The identity of the male victim, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer E. Clark reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was crossing the street - not in a crosswalk - at the above address when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver (suspect) fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Anyone with information on the wanted vehicle or driver is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-245-4065 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
