Investigation into Shooting at 4400 West Airport Boulevard
January 29, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental shooting of a juvenile male at 4000 West Airport Boulevard about 6:50 p.m. on Saturday (January 27).
The victim, 12, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Fay and M. Barrow reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. HFD paramedics then transported him to the hospital. Further investigation and statements made by the victim determined he and his cousin were playing with a gun they found in the victim's father's apartment. The weapon accidentally discharged and the victim was struck.
At this time, no charges are expected to be filed.
