Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10800 Bexley
Feburary 13, 2018 - The fatal shooting of a man at 10800 Bexley about 6:35 p.m. on Monday (February 12) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The victim, Crishun Chaney, 19, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The male shooter was not injured in the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Moss, R. Montalvo and D. Nabors reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at 10100 Beechnut and found Mr. Chaney had been shot multiple times. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. According to witnesses, Chaney attempted to purchase narcotics from an unknown male, who shot him.
The male shooter later turned himself in to police and told investigators Chaney had a pistol and began shooting at him over a narcotics transaction. The male returned fire, striking Chaney. Chaney dropped his pistol, which was recovered by the male and turned over to police.
