Suspect Arrested, Charged in Crash at 6300 Griggs
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a crash at 6300 Griggs about 9:35 p.m. on Wednesday (April 25).
The suspect, Jacqueline Cruz (H/f, 22), is charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #4. A booking photo of Cruz is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 60, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Maness and Officer M. Rios reported:
The suspect, Cruz, was driving a beige Nissan Altima westbound at the above address. The victim, a bicyclist, was traveling southbound on Buford. The bicyclist failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the Nissan.
Cruz remained at the scene. Further evaluation determined she was under the influence of an unknown narcotic and she was subsequently arrested and charged in this incident.
The investigation is continuing.
