Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8600 Bellaire Boulevard
A man critically injured in an auto-pedestrian crash at 8600 Bellaire Boulevard about 1 p.m. on April 10 has died from his injuries.
The identity of the victim, 74, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer T. Ho reported:
The driver of a black 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound at the above address when the victim suddenly ran across the street. The driver was unable to stop and struck the victim, who suffered head injuries and was transported by HFD paramedics to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. Doctors pronounced the man deceased at the hospital on Wednesday (April 18).
The driver of the Hyundai, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
