Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1800 Brittmore Road
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1800 Brittmore Road about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday (April 15).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer R. Veal reported:
An HPD patrol officer was traveling northbound on Brittmore when he saw a black Aprila motorcycle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his emergency equipment and attempted to catch up to the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist then ran the red light at the intersection of Hammerly and struck the driver's side of a black Ford Sportrac pickup truck. The motorcyclist died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
