Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman and wounding of a man at 4901 Laura Koppe about 2:40 p.m. on Dec. 9, 2017.

The suspect, Alfred Steven Washington (b/m, 43), is charged with murder in the 178th State District Court.  A booking photo of Washington is attached to this news release.

The female victim, Angelique Janetta Stafford, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The male victim, 40, was treated for a minor wound and released at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Arrington and J. Pickett reported:

The victims were sitting in their four-door Saturn Aurora in a convenience store parking lot at the above address when a male suspect on a bicycle rode up, fired multiple shots at them and then fled the scene. 

Paramedics pronounced Ms. Stafford deceased and treated the male victim for a minor wound to his right side.  

Further investigation led to the identification of Alfred Steven Washington as a suspect in this case.  On Wednesday (April 11), he was arrested without incident and charged with murder.
