Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12800 Gulf Freeway
September 19, 2017 - A man critically injured in a crash that occurred at 12800 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 10:05 p.m. on September 8 has died.
The victim, 24, was transported to an area hospital where, on September 9, he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer C. Washington reported:
The driver of a blue Ford Explorer was traveling southbound at the above address when she changed lanes when unsafe and was struck by a blue Lexus SUV. The Explorer then struck a concrete barrier and rolled over.
The driver of the Explorer and front seat passenger were transported to an area hospital. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was pronounced deceased the following day.
There are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.
