Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6900 Southwest Freeway
September 11, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) at 6 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 9).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Van reported:
The driver of a white Dodge Caravan was traveling south on the Southwest Freeway when the victim, on a bicycle, attempted to cross the freeway, and was struck by the Dodge. Additional unknown vehicles also struck the victim. The driver of the Dodge, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
