Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8830 Long Point
October 26, 2017 - A man critically wounded in a shooting at 8830 Long Point Drive about 2:10 p.m. on August 21 has died from his wounds.
The victim is identified as Sollie Lee Harris, also known as Samuel Horace, 48, of Houston.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer K. McDonald reported:
Mr. Harris was robbed of his vehicle and then shot at the above address by two unknown male suspects. He was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital. Doctors pronounced him deceased on Monday (October 23).
An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Harris died as a result of complications associated with the gunshot wound he sustained.
The suspects are described only as two black males between 20 and 30 years of age.
