Investigation into Fatal Crash at 100 Southwest Freeway
October 16, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 100 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 11:55 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 14).
The identity of the deceased male victim, 58, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Van reported:
The victim and another man, 50, were changing a tire on a white Chevrolet Express when their vehicle was struck by a blue Ford Crown Victoria traveling south at the above address. Paramedics transported the male pedestrians and the driver of the Ford to Memorial Hermann Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead. The two other males (pedestrian and driver) sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The at-fault driver of the Ford did not show signs of intoxication at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.
