Investigation into Incident at 1090 Kingwood Drive
October 16, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of an armed suspect by a Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constable at 1090 Kingwood Drive about 1:40 p.m. on Monday (Oct. 16).
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The deputy constable was not injured in this incident.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer G. Garcia and Officer R. Lujan reported:
A Montgomery County Precinct 4 deputy constable was pursuing a motorcyclist when the suspect crashed into another vehicle near the above address. The suspect then fled on foot into a nearby gas station where he produced a gun and pointed it at the deputy constable. The deputy constable, fearing for his life, discharged his duty weapon, striking the suspect.
As is customary when a law enforcement officer discharges his duty weapon within the city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division.
