Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2600 West Airport
November 27, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2600 West Airport about 5:10 a.m. last Thursday (Nov. 23).
The identity of the deceased female victim, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Williams and Senior Officer R. Bymaster reported:
The victim was driving a gold Lexus RX 400 westbound on West Airport when she failed to control her speed and disregarded a stop light at the Almeda Rd. intersection. The Lexus then struck a road-striping construction machine on the other side of the intersection. Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
