Suspects Charged in Shooting at 2706 Vance
November 7, 2017 - Charges have been filed against two males involved in a shooting at 2706 Vance about 9:40 p.m. on October 27.
One male, Harry Dee Malone (b/m, 67), was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm in the 176th State District Court. A photo of Malone is not available at this time.
The other male, Jerrod Ferguson (b/m, 41), was charged with felon in possession of a weapon and theft of a firearm in the 184th State District Court. A photo of Ferguson is attached to this news release.
HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers M. Barrow and J. Hasley reported:
Ferguson and another male were sitting outside a residence at the above address when two male suspects, one armed with a shotgun, approached them. One suspect (Malone) pointed the weapon toward the people in front of the residence, causing them to fear for their lives. Ferguson picked up a gun on a table next to him and fired it at Malone, striking him several times. Malone was transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital where he is being treated for his wounds. Ferguson was not injured.
