Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8000 Homestead
November 2, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred at 8000 Homestead at about 11 p.m. on October 26.
The identity of the male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer M. Burton reported:
The victim was operating a white Suzuki GSX1300R motorcycle north on Homestead when the driver of a maroon Ford Expedition SUV exited a private parking lot to also go north on Homestead. The driver of the Ford failed to yield the right of way and the victim’s motorcycle struck the rear of the Ford. The victim was thrown from his bike and struck the concrete. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where, on October 27, he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford fled the scene and later abandoned the vehicle in the 9400 block of Parkhurst.
The investigation is continuing.
