Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8801 Gustine

May 30, 2017 - HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another in the 8800 block of Gustine Lane about 8:25 p.m. on Sunday (May 28).

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A second wounded male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Officers B. Roberts and D. Nabors reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting call at 8800 Gustine Lane and found a male with an apparent gunshot wound to the face.  Paramedics transported the male to a hospital for treatment.

Witnesses on the scene directed officers to a nearby apartment complex at 8801 Gustine Lane where officers located evidence indicating the wounding of the male originated in apartment #610.  Officers conducted a welfare check inside the apartment and located a male with an apparent gunshot wound.  Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
