Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5800 Lockwood Drive

May 15, 2017 - HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5800 Lockwood Drive about 5:40 p.m. on Saturday (May 13). 

The identity of the male victim, 53, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer C. Washington reported: 

The victim was driving a silver Saturn at a high rate of speed southbound on Lockwood, failed to stay in a single lane and struck a grassy median.  The victim then lost control of his vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree and a light pole.  The victim died at the scene. 

No other persons were involved in the crash.
