Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6700 Homestead

May 1, 2017 -HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6700 Homestead about 3:55 a.m. on Saturday (April 29).

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer J. Baker reported:

The driver of a blue dump truck was traveling southbound at the above address and attempting to make a wide right turn into a private drive.  The victim, driving a white wrecker truck and possibly traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the dump truck.  The wrecker truck caught fire.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased.

There are no charges in this incident as the investigation is continuing.
