Fatal Crash at 3200 Almeda Genoa
March 20, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3200 Almeda Genoa about 1:25 a.m. on Saturday (March 18).
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer Rivera reported:
An 18-wheeler was stopped and waiting for a gate to open to turn into a private drive when it was struck from behind by a red Volvo 670 driven by the victim, who failed to control her speed. Paramedics pronounced the female driver dead at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
