UPDATE: Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 631 Uvalde Road
March 10, 2017 - **Updated to include photos and video of wanted suspect**
The fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 631 Uvalde Road about 9:55 p.m. on Thursday (March 9) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the male suspect is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A second suspect, described only as Hispanic male, is wanted for his involvement in the incident. Surveillance photos are attached to this news release. The male shooter, 55, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Officer R. Ridel reported:
An employee of a convenience store at the above address was robbed by two armed suspects. At some point during the robbery, the employee exchanged gunfire with both suspects and was shot. He was transpsorted by HFD paramedics to the hospital. One of the suspects was struck by the gunfire and died at the scene. At this time, it is undetermined if the second suspect, who fled the scene, was struck by the gunfire.
