UPDATE: Suspect in Fatal Shooting at 1800 Rusk Deceased
March 10, 2017 - A male suspect critically wounded in an apparent murder/attempted suicide incident at 1800 Rusk about 2:05 a.m. on Wednesday (March 8) has died.
The suspect, Marcos Hinojosa, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on Thursday (March 9).
The female victim, Maricela Banda, 33, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Arroyo and S. Gromyko reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Hinojosa and Ms. Banda unresponsive inside a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced Banda deceased and transported Hinojosa to the hospital.
