Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7930 Corporate

June 29, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7930 Corporate at 8:45 p.m. on January 3.

The suspect, Oscar Rene Martinez (H/m, 19), is charged with capital murder in the 263rd State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Martin Pineda, 38, of the above address.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner and Officer J. Nguyen reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Pineda with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.  He was transported by HFD paramedics to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where doctors later pronounced him deceased.

Further investigation identified Martinez as the suspect in this case.  He was arrested last Friday (June 23) and subsequently charged for his role in Pineda's death.
