Investigation into Fatal Crash at 200 Hamblen Road

June 13, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 200 Hamblen Road about 11:35 a.m. today (June 13).

The identity of the deceased male victim, 79, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer S. Le reported:

The victim was on a bicycle traveling westbound on Hamblen Road when a Waste Management truck passed the bicycle when unsafe and struck the victim.  Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the truck did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released pending further investigation.
