Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3800 Old Spanish Trail
July 5, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 3800 Old Spanish Trail about 9:30 p.m. on Monday (July 3).
The identity of the male victim, 45, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer R. Singleton reported:
The driver of a black Cadillac Escalade was traveling westbound on Old Spanish Trail when he saw what he believed to be a trash bag in the middle of the street. As he drove over it, the driver then realized it was a person and stopped to provide medical assistance. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital, where doctors later pronounced him deceased.
The investigation is continuing.
