Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12000 West Sam Houston Parkway North

January 18, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 12000 West Sam Houston Parkway North (Beltway 8 service road) about 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 17).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer A. Holmes reported:

The victim was walking on a sidewalk at the above address and stepped into a moving lane of traffic.  He was then struck by a gold or tan sedan traveling southbound on the Beltway service road.  The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.  Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
