Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2000 Pease Street

A man critically injured in a crash at 2000 Pease Street on March 6 has died from his injuries.
The identity of the victim, 49, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Senior Police Officer L. ho reported:
The driver of a white Chevrolet van was traveling westbound on Pease Street when he struck a pedestrian (victim), possibly in a crosswalk, crossing northbound on Chartres. Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the van, who remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment and stated he had the green light prior to striking the victim.
Doctors at Houston Hospice pronounced the victim deceased on Wednesday (May 1).
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
