Fatal Crash at 1100 West Gulf Bank Road

January 3, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1100 West Gulf Bank Road about 5:40 a.m. on Sunday (January 1).  

The male victim was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer T. Riley reported:  

The victim was driving a white Cadillac eastbound on West Gulf Bank when, for unknown reasons, he veered out of the lane and struck a tree in the center median.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.  

Investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
