Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2600 West Sam Houston Parkway South

February 27, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2600 West Sam Houston Parkway South feeder road (Beltway 8) about 3:30 a.m on Saturday (Feb. 25).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer F. Flynn reported:

The victim was driving a black Mercedes Benz S-550 on Westheimer Road when his vehicle was struck by a black Chevrolet Suburban that ran the red light at a high rate of speed while traveling south on the feeder road (Beltway 8).  The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His passenger was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.  The driver of the Suburban was also transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation is pending blood test results on the driver of the Suburban.
