Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2400 Bay Area Boulevard

February 6, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2400 Bay Area Boulevard about 11:55 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 4).

The female victim, 95, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer P. Ngo reported:

The driver of a gray Ford Mustang was traveling westbound at an apparent high rate of speed at the above address when he struck a gray Nissan Versa whose driver failed to yield the right of way while crossing Bay Area Boulevard in an attempt to enter a private parking lot.

The Versa's female passenger (victim) was transported an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.  The Versa's female driver, 72, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to an area hospital.  The driver of the Mustang was evaluated at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The investigation is continuing.
