Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 8312 Mesa

February 6, 2017 - The fatal shooting of an apparent robbery suspect at 8312 Mesa Road about 11:05 p.m. on Saturday (Feb. 4) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The wounded male was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Cass and A. Barr reported:

The owner of a family restaurant at the above address stated he was walking to his car when he was approached by the suspect who pointed a gun and demanded money.  The restaurant owner produced a gun of his own and shot the suspect.
