Investigation into Fatal Shooting of Armed Suspect at 4655 Wild Indigo
February 2, 2017 - The fatal shooting of an armed robbery suspect at 4655 Wild Indigo about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 31) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The suspect was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Officers N. Sharp and K. Fregia reported:
The suspect kicked open the door of an apartment at the above address and immediately began shooting at the people inside. One resident returned fire, striking the suspect who fled and then collapsed in the parking lot. The resident was also shot one time and transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Witnesses report at least one additional unidentified suspect fled the scene.
At this time, it is believed robbery was the motive for the shooting.
The investigation is continuing.
