Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6600 Southwest Freeway
December 14, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto pedestrian crash that occurred at 6600 Southwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 South) about 11:50 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 13).
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer J. Best reported:
The victim was attempting to cross the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by an unknown number of vehicles, whose drivers then failed to stop and render aid. Two motorists, one of whom also struck the pedestrian, ultimately did stop.
There are no charges at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
